Hannah Macfie

Hannah Macfie trained as a Physiotherapist at West London Institute and graduated in 1994. Since qualifying she has commited to continuous training, striving to offer the highest standard of physiotherapy care using current research evidence to support her practice.

Hannah specialised in musculoskeletal disorders very early on in her career, working with sports teams alongside her full time job. She has been Physiotherapist to a number of rugby union clubs which has also taken her onto the European Sevens circuit working with International level players. She has also been on the medical team at the Flora London Marathon and the UK and Ireland Corporate Games.

In 1997 Hannah completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy at Queen Mary & Westfield College, London. In 1999 she moved to New Zealand where she had her own practice which she sold in 2004 to return to the UK. Whilst in New Zealand Hannah was keen to widen her physiotherapy skills further and completed a Post-graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture at Auckland University of Technology. She also trained in Pilates and instructed classes outside of the clinic.

On return to the UK, Hannah worked as a Senior Physiotherapist within an NHS Outpatients Department in Bishops Stortford. During her time here she was involved in teaching many undergraduate student physiotherapists, motivating them with her enthusiasm for the profession. In 2005, as part of the Masters programme at Keele University, she completed a module in Stability Rehabilitation of Movement Dysfunction, which qualifies her as a Kinetic Control Movement Therapist. Movement dysfunction is an area in which she holds a particular interest.

In October 2006, Hannah returned to private practice and founded Body Mechanix Physiotherapy with the aim of providing the highest quality care encorporating an holistic approach in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
